LAX has the most flights available from the entire US and is the most price competitive. We do, however, recommend exploring other nearby airports if you have the option - see below!

Burbank airport is another smaller airport which is convenient and quiet. We recommend flying into and out of this airport versus LAX if you don't mind a longer drive to get to Santa Barbara.

John Wayne airport is the closest airport to where we live. This is our favorite airport. It is farther from Santa Barbara, but is the best option if you plan to explore Orange County. It has direct flights to and from EWR and is quiet and convenient to commute to and from.

Long Beach airport is another option which we have heard is one of the better small airports.

AMTRACK | PACIFIC SURFLINER

If you're not renting a car, there's a train from Downtown Los Angeles that will take you to the heart of Santa Barbara. It's about 2.5-3 hours away, but part of the trip is scenic.
