Jack and I met just a few days after my big move to Atlanta. The first time I met him we were riding a bus with the Mount Paran Church Young Adults group to go to a shelter to feed those in need. Months later, we started going out more in groups with friends, and after some time he asked me to join him for a Cleveland Cavaliers/Atlanta Hawks basketball game for his birthday. At first I had no idea I was the only one he invited or that he had any interest in me. The rest is history, he's one of the best parts of my life, my best friend, and my love. He's everything I dreamed, prayed, and hoped for. Jack is originally from Ohio and as most of you know I'm originally from New Jersey, so our moving and meeting in a new city was totally God's doing.
Jack planned a special outing the day after my birthday in New York City. He took me out shopping that morning to buy a new dress and promised he had a nice surprise for me. I assumed this was part of a birthday gift and didn't think much of it, except that he was so nervous, which isn't really like him. We arrived to Central Park and took a horse drawn carriage tour around Central Park, something I'd always wanted to do. The tour guide let us off to walk around by this huge fountain, which led to a beautiful bridge, and that's when he got down on one knee. It was very romantic and he even hired a photographer to capture the moment. He made me so happy that day, it was the first day of the rest of our lives together.
