Our Love Story

4.22.16

We technically met in 2012 at the beginning of Freshman year of high school in homeroom…but our true love story began during our senior year of high school, during a trip to France. Throughout our journey across the beautiful country, visiting Paris, Aix En Provence, Avignon, and more, we shared laughter and adventures with each other and our classmates. However, it wasn’t until the second-to-last day of the trip that our our connection deepened. We were in Nice, in the south of France sitting on the rocky Mediterranean beach for over an hour talking about our dreams for college and the future. In that moment, we shared our first kiss. It was picture perfect, just like a movie. Our blissful moment was interrupted by the realization that curfew was less than ten minutes away and our hotel was just over ten minutes away. We locked hands and sprinted through the streets as quickly as we could, in order to get back on time. It was the kind of spontaneous moment that perfectly captures our journey and love for one another. It’s a memory we will always cherish as we embark on this new chapter of our lives together.

The Proposal

3.14.22

Jack bought a ring early in March and hid it in an old Xbox box, knowing full well that Jenna would not look in there under any circumstances. A week or so had passed, and on Monday morning, Jenna was having second thoughts about what style of ring she wanted and asked Jack if they could go ring shopping together when the time came. Jack responded with a simple “No”. When Jenna continued to push back, understanding Jenna's world-class persistence, Jack blurted out “Because I already bought the ring". After the initial shock had set in and Jenna got out all of her questions…”You bought a ring!? When!? Did you ask my Dad!? Did he cry!? Did you cry!? How long have you had it!? Who knows!?”…Jack had to leave for work. This meant that Jenna had to sit at home all alone knowing that a ring was hidden somewhere in the apartment! She resorted to taking a nap to pass the time. Finally, her impatience got the best of her and she texted Jack half-jokingly, “Wanna get engaged later tonight?” To which he replied, “Low-key.” Jack got home from work around eleven that night, and Jenna ran from the bedroom to greet him, as she always does…but this time she asked, giggling “Do you want to get engaged tonight?”. Without hesitation, Jack told her to wait in the living room as he went into the bedroom, grabbed the ring, walked back into the living room, got down on one knee, and asked the question. It was a simple, intimate proposal that perfectly encapsulated their love for each other—no grand gestures or elaborate plans, just the two of them, sharing a precious moment in the comfort of their home. Unbeknownst to them, the day held an even greater significance—it was Jenna's late grandfather's birthday. In that serendipitous moment, it felt as though he had given them his blessing. This added layer of meaning made the day even more unforgettable for Jack and Jenna, intertwining their joyous celebration with cherished memories of Grampy Knox.
