We’re so excited for you all to experience Oahu, which is one of our favorite places! Here are some of our favorite spots and things to do on your vacation.

Lanikai Beach

Kailua, HI 96734

Stunning turquoise water and powdery sand on Oahu’s windward side. Car needed (about 40 min drive; parking can be tough - recommend parking at Kailua Beach and walking over).

Lanikai Pillbox Trail

265 Kaelepulu Drive, Kailua, HI 96734

Short but steep hike with epic views over the Mokulua Islands & Lanikai Beach. Best early morning. Car needed (same area as the beach).

Banan Waikiki Beach Shack

2301 Kalākaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

Little soft-serve stand near the beach. Walkable from the Marriott.

Trendy wine bar with great cocktails and tasting & a la carte menus. Walkable.

Kona Coffee Purveyors

Simple and fresh poke spot known for various options. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Walkable.

Buzz's Original Steak House

Classic beachy steakhouse right across from Kailua Beach, famous for its mai tais and prime rib. Car needed (about 40 min).

Katsumidori Sushi Tokyo

100 Holomoana Street, Honolulu, HI 96815

Sushi spot with excellent quality and reasonable prices. Walkable (inside the Prince Waikiki hotel area). Recommend getting a reservation.

Ke Iki Beach

Haleiwa, HI 96712

Wide North Shore beach. Quieter than Waimea or Sunset. Car needed (about 1 hr).

Kawela Bay Beach

Kawela Bay, HI 96731

Secluded cove on the North Shore, calm waters for swimming and turtle spotting. Car needed (about 1 hr 15 min).

Dolphin Excursions Hawaii

85-491 Farrington Highway, Waianae, HI 96792

Small-group boat tours on Oahu’s west side where you can spot (and often snorkel with) wild dolphins, plus sea turtles and seasonal whales. Super fun and well-run. Car needed (about 50 min drive to Waianae Boat Harbor).
