Oh I remember it like it was yesterday! Jack had invited me to go axe throwing with him at one of the trendy Milwaukee bars: Axe MKE. I was so excited not only because it was my first time axe throwing, but also because he offered to pay AND pick me up from my apartment in his very own car (SWOON)! When it came time for the date he suddenly wasn’t texting me back. I thought to myself “no way this dude would ghost me!” So I went outside and surely enough he had lost cellphone service and had been waiting outside for me in his car for the past 20 minutes. When I got in, he greeted me with a handshake which made me laugh. We were very late to axe throwing, whoopsies! We put each other’s names down as our emergency contact in case we accidentally lost a finger to an axe. Jack’s drink of choice was an old fashioned (Milwaukee classic) and I ordered a Long Island iced tea (Elisa classic). We bonded over theater, school stress, music and California… at least I think we did because I’m pretty sure I talked nonstop the entire date. And even though Jack was mute, I could tell he was sweet, generous and funny. After my epic win at axe throwing we went across the street to YoFactory for frozen yogurt where Jack bought us both giant cups full. I scarfed mine down while Jack let his melt since he was too shy to tell me that he doesn’t like frozen yogurt. The date went really well! Jack did all of the gentlemanly things like open the door for me and let me walk ahead and got bonus points for unexpectedly running into a friend at the yogurt shop. Talk about popular! After that we were pretty much inseparable and Jack and I saw each other every day until we “made things official” a month later in October! 💕👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏼 - Elisa
Elisa and I started hanging out and were inseparable after meeting. On our second date, we went and got sushi. Elisa, had me try uni for the first time, and let’s say I wasn’t the biggest fan (ask her for the picture and video). One thing Elisa always has to do is take a picture of me every time we are about to eat food. To this day I still feel annoyed, happy, and confused. I feel annoyed usually because I am really hungry and just want to eat. Happy, because I know she has a 1000 photos of me smiling with plates of food. Confused, because all I could be eating is a scrambled egg and she still would want to take a picture. Elisa introduced me to this game called Othello right away in our relationship. It was a game I never played before, but found out quickly how competitive Elisa is when it comes to games. We are the same when it comes to wanting to win. Later on I found out Elisa gets it from her family. Othello was a game we play constantly, but have now moved away from because Elisa can’t stand constantly losing to me. We have started playing chess and both of us are awful so it usually is fair. Elisa is the most beautiful girl I have ever met. She knows how to make me laugh, she is smart, and she always has these creative ideas that always excite me because she’s excited. Elisa wrote about our first date, and everything she said was true. After I dropped her off after our date I went to my friends house and he asked me how it went. I told him that I am going to marry that girl. Now on 10.26.24 I get to marry the girl of my dreams and I could not be happier. - Jack
