It was a festive day in Spring of 2015. The day brought upon a gathering of close friends (brothers and sisters you can say) from both sides. Through mutual friends, Diana was introduced to Jack which led to instantaneous sparks and flare. Two young energetic UCI students soon learnt that they were on opposite ends of campus; Diana was in her first year of college, while Jack had recently transferred in as a third year student. To keep a connection with Diana, Jack asked if she would be his Vietnamese language tutor. Diana was prideful in her native tongue, and she had mentioned that she was a proficient speaker. Unbeknownst to Jack, Diana said this to impress him (her Vietnamese was elementary at best). Nonetheless, the two took this as an opportunity to hang out, get to know each other, and become partners. They shared a "ham choi" lifestyle. Over the many years, the two have grown together. Both graduated from UCI, began their professional careers in the respective fields, and indulged in their shared passion of music, outdoors, cooking and traveling around the globe together. Diana had aspirations to pursue a Master’s degree. Meanwhile Jack had his eyes set on entrepreneurship. Their relationship took an unexpected turn in 2020, when Jack decided to move back to Dublin, CA. This decision officially began their long distance relationship. Time together was scarce as Diana and Jack saw each other sparingly. This time apart allowed them to grow individually - Diana enrolled into Cal State Fullerton to pursue her studies in High Education, and Jack launched JayHoangDesigns into a successful Etsy Business. Thankfully, the long distance chapter of their relationship had an ending. Jack was patiently waiting for Diana to graduate from her Master's program in order to pop the question. Months of planning for the “Big Day” (otherwise known as D-Day) took place behind the scenes with Diana’s closest friends. On April 24th, 2023, Diana completed her program, and on April 28th, 2023, Jack surprised Diana with her family and a bent knee. The proposal speech was thought to be an unforgettable one as both did not remember a single word said, but the most memorable words of the day were “I do”. The next chapter is ready to begin, and they will now celebrate their 10 Year Anniversary in 2025. On October 10th, 2025 (10-10-25), they are excited to celebrate what will be the best day of their lives with their loved ones!
