Maid of Honor
Maya - my little sister, my deepest confidant, my favorite person, my best friend. Growing up she would bother the shiz out of me, and I, in turn, would pin her down to her bed when her toe crossed our tape line in the bedroom we shared. It's one of her favorite stories to tell strangers. When our daddy died we became immensely closer. Our relationship is one of the strongest bonds in my life. It's a no brainer to have her standing right beside me on my wedding day. I am so proud to know her, and to have watched her grow into an amazing, strong, vibrant, & driven woman. She inspires me daily and I look up to her - literally though, she's way taller than me! I couldn't ask for a better person to share my DNA with. She is fearless and exuberant and adds so much to my life. ILY sissy!
Best Man
My ultimate best friend of all time. We met super early on in first grade, but didn't really become absolute BOYS until high school. Freshman year, we both played basketball for our high school team, and the bond began. We would make fun of each other, support each other, and most importantly would dominate copious amounts of fast food together before games. From then on, we were pretty much inseparable. Justin has always been my academic, athletic, and humorous nemesis, while also bringing the best out of me in each of those categories. He's the one guy in life who can inspire me to a whole new level, and every time I'm around him I have an awesome time. Whether it be trips to the beach, going to matinee movies, playing cornhole, or watching LEBRON, it's always great when Justin's there.
Bridesmaid
Nicole is my cousin, but really, more like my sister. We grew up spending summers and holidays together, and she lived with my family shortly after college. We share a love of food, fun, Delilah (the radio host,) and getting things done. She has been a constant loving support for me and is utterly irreplaceable in my life. She is seriously the most giving and caring person I've ever met. And she's so freakin talented - she's good at everything! I desperately wish we lived closer because she's the person I want to make dinner with after a long day to sit, talk, and relax (you too, Jack.) I love you Neek!
Groomsman
Bonner. My BROTHER! Talk to Bonner for 5 minutes and you'll realize he's an awesome guy with a massive heart. Live with him for 1 day and you'll realize he's the strangest prankster of all time. To expound, one day I was enjoying a nice summer day with him and his wife Amber, and out of nowhere he smacks my ear with ice. It was vicious but hilarious. I expressed my admonishment of this action and he instantly felt extreme remorse and tried to make it better. This is how Bonner always was with me. He loved being a pesky big brother, but also would do everything he could to make things better and make me happy. He was always down to play sports with me, video games, or just simply talk to me. I love you Bonner. You're the man.
Bridesmaid
Christina is my cousin, but really, again, my sister. We spent ample time together growing up, and as adults Tina has been one of my most trusted and wonderful friends. She is amazing and hilarious, and so so supportive. When I picture Christina in my head, I picture her dancing and screaming along to music at the top of her lungs. Possibly a Disney soundtrack or maybe Backstreet Boys? Either way, her energy and love of life is so infectious. She's also the best mama ever! Everyone should have a Christina in their life. Love you Tineeey!
Groomsman
Ben. The funniest and most honest guy I ever met. There have been so many moments in my life where I have just sat there dying laughing at him. He always keeps a smile on my face and is a great listener. Ben also cares so much about me and the rest of our brothers, and it's so glaringly obvious. If there are any problems, he wants to fix them. It's such a comforting feeling to know your big brother is just going to be there for you regardless. It's also awesome to have somebody in the family who is almost as good as me at drumming. Love you BOY!
Bridesmaid
Caitlyn is my cousin, but again, we're like sisters. We grew up playing anything & everything together. We begged and bribed our parents into any sleepover possible. We attended church camps, vacations, concerts, college visits, etc. etc. - anything to get more time together! Our cross-country trip to Colorado is one of my favorite memories. We went on a hike in the Rockies which was pure beauty, but was also filled with hiding under a rock to avoid hail, getting lost, and me running down the trail because I needed to use the bathroom so badly. We always have so much fun together. Cait has this aura about her that is pure energy. She livens up any room with her gorgeous, big smile. She has been my lifetime best friend and I'm so lucky to have a cousin and a best friend! Chip + Chip Forever
Groomsman
Will. My one little bro. This guy is absolutely one of the most interesting men in the world. The guy can do anything. He's a genius mathematician, can hit bullseye with his bow and arrow, forges knives, is absolutely ripped, but is so humble. Everything he has ever wanted to do or has been interested in, he has figured out a way to master it. He is loyal, honest, and has a dry wit that will pop out at you unexpectedly. Love you W. You the man.
Bridesmaid
Growing up Lauren was my idol. She was my beautiful, effortless older cousin and I loved her so much. I even faked like salami sandwiches, which I thought smelled like feet, to be more like her because they were her favorite. As adults, Lauren is always there for me to talk or get ANY beauty/fashion/love advice on despite our geographical distance. She is so positive and loving, and I am so thankful for her in my life. I wish we lived closer (PSST move back to the East Coast,) but I treasure the time we get together. Time spent with her is always eventful, fun, and carefree. Life is good when we're together. I Love you LAURY!
Groomsman
DILL! My DAWG! We met in 5th grade at a middle school dance, when he walked up to me and said "Jack, I'm your brother's friend's little brother. What up?". From then on there was no stopping the Dillon and Jack train. We had the sickest hair in school from 5th-7th grade, and we knew it. I would go to Dillon's almost every Friday night to skateboard, play video games, watch movies, and create our own skateboard brands. Nothing really has changed as we continue to hang out and skate in Richmond. He has always been such a positive force in my life, providing me with honest thoughts and reactions to things I do, making sure he supports me in the right way. He's also just super funny and fun to be around. I love you Dill. You're my guy.
Bridesmaid
There's really no way to adequately put into words how much Jessie means to me. She's more than a friend, she's family. We have been steadfast friends since 8th grade and have shared so. so. so. much over the years. Some of the best days of my life were shared with her. She's also the person I call sobbing; always there on the other end listening willingly & lovingly. Being with her feels like home. Not many people on earth are as thoughtful and genuinely good as Jess. One of my favorite things about J is her laugh - it's deep & real and often brings her to tears. It's amazing. She is such a compassionate person, and her passion for understanding, justice, learning, and music is infectious. My life is vehemently enhanced because I know her & call her my best friend. I love you Jezzicah!
Groomsman
Blake. An absolute beast. Blake is the kindest, most soft-hearted guy I've ever met. I make fun of him way too much, but he always takes it with the most grace. Having him by my side throughout high school was crucial, and having him as an adult is just as necessary. He's a positive, strong, and honest force in my life, and he's always down to debate. (I love to debate). It's so obvious that he respects people for exactly who they are, and just loves to live. I love you Blake.
Bridesmaid
This snail-loving, artist-doodling, super funny girl in Ms. Kim's first period 7th grade science class quickly became one of the most important people in my life. Hayley is my soul sister. We have endured so much, and we have celebrated life together for so many years together. We have lived so closely with each other (my college roomie!) that we can finish each other's sentences. I'm pretty sure we think the same thoughts at times. We share a deep love for food, traveling, concerts, nice people, beaches and the sun. Throughout the years people thought of us a pair rather than separate entities. She takes up a huge part of my heart. She is truly an amazing, empathetic person. I feel so lucky to have such strong roots and bonds with someone - one in which will never die. I love you HAY!
Groomsman
Aaron Cole Lawhorne. Such a lovable guy. From the moment I met him as a 10 year old, I knew he was going to be one of my best friends. He has an awesome sense of humor and is a beast at like every sport. As you can probably tell now, that's a recurring theme in my friendships. Aaron and I did pretty much everything together from that moment I met him up through high school. We absolutely crushed our prom tuxedoes, and have yet to be taken down by any other members of our crew as best dressed duo. He has a contagious smile, and is so light-hearted and understanding. I love you AC.
Bridesmaid
Meg & I met in Ms. D's 8th grade english class. She was new to school, and I had so much advice to share about Frost MS. We quickly became friends, and shared so much throughout our confusing, blissful teenage years. One of my favorite memories is when Meg got pulled over for the first time ever for speeding; I was with her and she was instantly hysterical. She punished herself before her parents even knew. This is the kind of person she is: remarkable. She's the person who lights up a room as soon as she enters it. She's the most loving, giving, thoughtful, positive person. She has generated so much light into my life. She's so caring, it's rare & refreshing. Everyone is her friend. I deeply cherish our strong, significant, and pick-up-where-we-left-off friendship. I love you sooo Meggy!
Groomsman
Coleman. Coleman Coleman Coleman. You're the man. Even though you made me cry by making fun of LeBron losing to the Magic in the 2009 ECF, I love you. Coleman has a spirit of joy and honest happiness that is contagious. He is the best teammate, an awesome friend to have around, and such a caring guy. I accidentally threw a bouncy ball directly into his eye on one day of the last week of school, and he didn't even get mad. He has an eternal calmness about himself, and has absolutely encouraged me to be more like him because of it. I love you Cole.
Bridesmaid
Alexis and I actually went to grade school together, and reconnected when we ended up at VCU together. Small world right?! Our friendship grew and deepened throughout college, and I feel so lucky to have reconnected with her. We made so many memories throughout college that I'll look back upon with nostalgia forever. She is a fiercely loyal, loving, big-hearted, and funny friend. She's the best and the most unforgettable person I've ever met. You really do want her on your side in life. And I am so happy to have her standing by my side! I love you Lexi!
Groomsman
Rantana! This guy is such an amazing man. I've never met anyone else like him. We formed a bond in 8th grade gym class, and nothing's ever gotten between it. He's a police officer now, and it's so obvious why. Trevon has an overwhelming desire to protect people, defend them, and make sure they're okay. Every time I see him that's the first thing he asks me. "You doing ok?" "Everything good?". I know these are just typical conversation starters, but with Tre, it goes beyond the question. If I were to tell him something was wrong, he would be right there for me talking me through it. He always steps up for people, with zero hesitation. Having a guy like him in my corner is such a blessing. I love you Fr8.
Officiant
Tom. Cubby. Biggest brother. Role model. (We call him Cubby because he’s the first “wolf cub”) Despite our 7 year age difference, he was the one that inspired me to skateboard, influenced the way I dressed, and helped me believe it was ok to be myself. He was the first of my brothers to get married and have children, and he has been such a solid example of what it means to be a father and a husband. Somehow, even though I have spent over half my life away from him, he is the person I am most similar to in my family. Loving life, being goofy, and adoring the all time legend- Kanye West are just a few of the things we both do. I’m honored to have him officiate Brianna and I’s wedding, and I hope he cries harder than I did when he got married.
