Angelique and Jack met at Marquette when she was a sophomore and he was a junior. Jack was a Student Director for New Student and Family Programs at Marquette and Angelique applied to be a SPARK Leader; they technically first met when Jack interviewed Angelique for the job! It wasn't until summer 2019 that they began officially working together and spending every day that summer together. Long days and late nights of welcoming new students to campus, Angelique and Jack immediately clicked. Jack eventually asked Angelique on their first official date to Jazz in the Park- a Milwaukee staple. They brought a picnic blanket, goldfish, and boxed wine and spent the whole night listening to jazz music and laughing in Cathedral Square Park.

Angelique planned a weekend for the two of them and some friends to go to Summerfest in Milwaukee to see some of their favorite bands. What Angelique did not know, is Jack ended up using that as a ruse to plan the engagement! The morning of the proposal, their friends started suggesting they all go to Caffery's, a bar on Marquette's campus. Angelique was definitely suspicious of this, as it's not normal for them to go and spend time on campus, so she made sure to take extraaaaaa time to get ready. No really, she made them late for their own engagement! Once they got to campus, Angelique's bestie Shay was there waiting with a SPARK binder with photos from spots on campus that are meaningful to them! They walked throughout campus, reminiscing on their relationship, and the last photo was from where they had their first date, Cathedral Square Park! Shay drove them to the park, where Jack had a picnic blanket set up with of course, goldfish and champagne. This is where Jack popped the question! Right after, their friends cheered and to Angelique's surprise, her whole family was up there to celebrate! They spent the day at the park and it truly was the perfect day :)
