"I Do" in Doylestown

Like all great love stories, we open on a jungle-themed fraternity party.* It’s the 21st night of September in 2019. Amanda is wearing a Shein Crop Top and space buns. Jack, a bunny onesie. He knows there are no bunnies in the Jungle, but there was a last-minute theme change. After locking eyes across a dance floor adorned with Party City vines and dinosaur cutouts, they didn’t leave each other’s side for the rest of the night. Yes, they totally kissed. They played coy, then got busy with school, all-female musical sketch comedy, and other themed parties. Then March 2020 hit, and what could have been is further delayed. Amanda is now back in Florida (where there is no global pandemic), and Jack in Pennsylvania. They snapchatted, and a few long months later, students started trickling back to Philadelphia for a remote semester. Jack and Amanda met for a socially-distanced Starbucks, then socially-distanced Chipotle, and then socially-distanced Sweetgreen. After a respectful amount of time, they dropped the distance. Shortly after, his roommate (~Jared~) got COVID, leaving her quarantined for her 21st birthday. Jack made up for it with hours on FaceTime each night. He asked her to be his girlfriend at Sampan in Philadelphia on November 7, 2020. After first I love you’s, graduating college, living in Philadelphia, and moving to Jersey City in September of 2024, Jack proposed at the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World, fulfilling Amanda’s childhood (and adulthood) dreams. She will be spending the rest of her life with someone kind, funny, and smoking hot. And just as important, she is now a proud owner of a “Happily Ever After” pin. They have now been together for five years, seven Taylor Swift album drops, and one Eagles Super Bowl win (two appearances). Together, they have binged hours (or weeks) of TV, gone through boxes of Trader Joe’s lava cakes and Whole Foods brown butter cookies, and learned to box to offset the lava cakes and brown butter cookies. They are more in love than either of them thought possible and can’t wait to celebrate with all their favorite people this May! *Jack remembers meeting Amanda the year prior, on a night she vaguely remembers doing a Shotski with a handsome ginger stranger. However, history gets told by the one with the Zola password, so we’re going with the Jungle mixer. Much more romantic.
