Abby was in Florida visiting her old housemates (Hannah and Abby #2), and ended up in none other than the crown jewel of Pensacola itself: the world-famous Florabama Beach Bar. After one or five adult beverages, she finds herself lost, discombobulated, and outside of a porta john. Like a beacon of light (or because he's so tall), Jack sees her and recognizes her from when they had met earlier, and shows her back to the friend group. The next day, after being a bit over-served, Abby decided that guy was "too friendly to be a real person". A few months later, Abby & Jack's paths crossed again in Texas, where Abby had been placed for Air Force tech school and Jack & Hannah were reporting for the next phases of Naval flight training. All traveling for a Holiday weekend, Abby and Jack had to be at the airport around the same time early in the morning, so they parked near each other in the economy lot. Not waiting up (per usual), Abby watched as Jack nearly missed the shuttle to the terminal, where he asked, "in case we get split up or delayed, can I have your number?" Abby agreed, and by the time she had boarded her plane, Jack had sent her the entire route of her flight and explained where it may be bumpy.... & the rest is history.
