Of course! While it’s our dream to get married in Florence, we totally understand it might not be everyone’s dream to use all their vacation days (and airline miles) to watch us say “I do.” We’ll still love you just as much & and promise to over post on Instagram & TikTok so you can celebrate from afar.
WELCOME PARTY: A relaxed Italian pizza night calls for easy, elegant style. Think linen sets, flowy dresses, and polished but comfortable looks. No need for suits or ties — just channel your best effortless Italian summer vibe. WEDDING DAY: Black tie with an Italian chic twist. Think fun, dramatic, and a little over the top like you’re heading to a Tuscan Met Gala. For women feel free to lean into pink & red hues! Honestly, if anyone’s going to upstage the bride, we hope it’s you.
There are no direct flights to Florence (sadly!), but getting there is easy with one quick connection. Most guests will fly into Florence (FLR) via a layover in Rome (FCO), Paris (CDG), or Amsterdam (AMS) — all smooth options. If you prefer to make a little trip out of it, you can also fly into Milan or Rome and take a scenic high-speed train to Florence (about 1.5 hours from Rome, 2 hours from Milan).
Yes to the passport — make sure it doesn’t expire within 6 months of travel. No visa required for U.S. guests staying under 90 days.
If it were up to Rita, 300 people would be coming. If it were up to Jack, he’d still manage to talk to every single one of them. Unfortunately, Florence venues aren’t quite built for that kind of guest list, so we’re working with limited space. Please check your invitation to see if a plus-one was included — we wish we could invite everyone!
Walking! Florence is very pedestrian-friendly. Skip the heels and enjoy the cobblestones.
Florence doesn’t really do Uber (we know, tragic), but taxis are easy once you know how it works. You can’t hail them on the street — you’ll need to either: Call a local taxi service (+39 055 4242 or +39 055 4390) Walk to a designated taxi stand (you’ll find them near major piazzas, train stations, and hotels) Or ask your hotel concierge or restaurant to call one for you — it’s totally normal here!
Think warm afternoons, crisp evenings, and that golden light that makes every photo look like a movie still. Temperatures usually sit in the 60s–70s°F during the day and drop to the 50s at night, so you’ll want layers. A light jacket, blazer, or wrap will be your best friend.
A few days before you leave, start shifting your sleep a little earlier (flying east is no joke). On the plane, try to sleep the entire way there! Skip the movies, hydrate like it’s your job, and don’t go too hard on the wine. Once you land, the trick is to stay up as long as you can. Ideally until 9 PM local time.
