Our Story

There is a LONG history between Jack and Monica. Unlike most people, they didn’t meet in college, or even high school, it was actually in their first-grade class. They also played Kickers together and Monica was often over the McCourt’s house either planning the 5th grade end of the year pool party, middle school New Year’s Eve party, or to do Jack and his best friend Johnny’s math project. They were even on the same middle school bus and Monica used to bully Jack out of the one-seater, in her own unique way of trying to flirt. They had been friends for most of their life but did not start to officially date until Junior year of High School. They went to Junior and Senior Prom together. Since they had known each other their entire lives, they quickly became a part of each other’s families. Monica’s cousins even called Jack “Cousin Jack”, luckily that didn’t scare him off! By the end of Senior year, Monica had attended 2 of Jack’s sisters' weddings and was a clear fan favorite. When it came time for college, Jack and Monica mutually agreed (not really) that they should split up and not try to do long distance. Monica convinced Jack that they knew they would be together forever so this would be the perfect time to grow on their own. Although they were not dating, it was rare for them to not talk weekly. Fast forward to Summer 2018, Jack and Monica graduated college and surprisingly both found themselves working outside of the city. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to spark up an old flame and they started going on weekly dates in the ~beautiful~ town of Framingham. Their adult love story takes place in Southie, very original, we know. Now both having different groups of friends, they quickly began to blend together. Date nights at their favorite spots like Panza and Roza Lyons became a regular occurrence. After a few years of Jack being the honorary third roommate to Monica and her best friend Kim, they finally moved in together in September 2021. On June 26, 2022, Jack decided to make it official and proposed to Monica in front of the bench that is dedicated to her late grandfather on Castle Island. The location is very special to them since it’s where they spend most weekend days with the best one-eyed Aussie there is, Sadie.
