The Museum Park features temporary and permanent art installations, environmentally sustainable landscapes, colorful and contemporary gardens, 4.7 miles of recreational trails, and a terraced pond.
William B. Umstead State Park is a North Carolina state park that covers 5,599 acres. We have hiked almost every trail in the park! It is a perfect place to spend the morning and enjoy fresh air!
Shopping local is easy to do in Raleigh. Whenever we need to get a gift, we always head to Deco! They have a huge selection of NC made goods and provisions. This is a great place to grab a souvenir from your time in Raleigh!
Big Eds is located on the cobblestone streets of historic Raleigh. Not only is this area beautiful, it has the best breakfast you will every have! Big Eds has good ol' down home southern breakfast. It is a go to spot whenever friends and family are in town! *Fair warning, they are always busy! If you go after 9:30, you may have to wait, but we promise it is worth it! We have never waited more than 20 minutes!
This brewery is one of our favorites and is walking distance from the venue! We love to visit Crank Arm for the chill atmosphere and delicious brews. Our favorite beers are the Unicycle and Road Hazard!
LBC is one of the best places to get local brews! It is a short drive into the 5 points area of Raleigh. LBC is in a massive warehouse and shares its lot with Wilson's Eatery where can grab delicious food to go with their awesome beers!
Parkside is a restaurant nestled right around the corner from Crank Arm. When we don't feel like cooking, we go to Parkside! They are a perfect spot to enjoy a good lunch before the celebrations begin!
Whiskey Kitchen is the best place to get a good cocktail and a bite! If the weather is nice, they have plenty of heaters and a cozy outdoor area. We recommend the Beer and Loathing for your drink choice! It combines two of our favs-- whiskey and beer!
