Jaci made the move from San Diego back to Colorado and was moving in with her cousin Tracy and T's husband Nick. Mitch happened to be Nick's cousin's cousin and also the head foreman of their company Colorado Concrete Repair. The first day after Jaci moved in Tracy, Nick, Jaci, her dad and Mitch went up to the top of Mount Evans so the boys could bike down it. Jaci's first thought when seeing Mitch for the first time, as he got out of the car was, "THAT'S Mitch?!" Sparks flew between them both instantly, even her dad noticed. They became great friends but didn't start dating until April. By then, they were beyond ready to be with each other. It's been filled with lots of love since.
We were in Breckenridge for the weekend with Mitch's best friend's family. After a beautiful blue bird day of skiing, "the kids" retired to the hot tub to relax. Unbeknownst to Jaci at the time, while she was changing, Mitch decided this was going to be his moment. He asked his friends if he could propose and when they eagerly said "yes," he put the ring in the cooler and off to the hot tub we went! After some time chatting, Mitch got down on one knee in the hot tub, told Jaci how much he loved her and wanted to spend his life with her and asked her to marry him. She was completely surprised but eagerly said "YES!" Mitch did not drop the ring in the Jacuzzi as he put it on her finger - a place that it hasn't moved from since.
