Curtis Arboretum is located in Wyncote, Cheltenham Township, about a 12-mile (27 minute) drive from Center City Philadelphia.
"Curtis Hall" was built in 1893 as the music ballroom on the country estate of Cyrus H.K. Curtis, a wealthy publishing magnate known for popular magazines like the Saturday Evening Post and Ladies Home Journal. The building is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and sits within the 45-acre "Curtis Arboretum". The arboretum grounds were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same renowned landscape architect who designed Central Park in New York.
