In a time of uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic, we found solace in adapting together. After weeks of virtual connection, we decided it was time to meet in person and cautiously planned our first encounter. We chose an outdoor setting, allowing us to savor each other's presence while adhering to social distancing guidelines. The day arrived, and as we set eyes on each other for the first time, there was an undeniable spark. We talked, laughed, and shared stories, grateful for the opportunity to finally meet face-to-face. Although masks obscured our smiles, our eyes conveyed the happiness and excitement that words alone could not express. Our story exemplifies the resilience and adaptability of love in the face of adversity. Meeting during COVID not only brought us together, but also taught us the value of patience, trust, and making the most of every moment. We are truly grateful for the serendipity that led us to each other during these unprecedented times.

On the anniversary of when we first met, we came back to Mission Gorge to hike a different trail. Upon seeking a new trail, little did we know we were both about to embark into a new chapter. When we reached the top of the mountain, I glanced over at my beloved and he was down on bended knee. I excitedly said "YES" and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in San Diego.
