Our Engagement Story

On their very first date, Jace and Taylor were walking through Carytown when a street vendor approached them and insisted Jace buy a painting fridge magnet “for his lady.” Wanting to be a gentleman (and despite it definitely being a scam) Jace went along with it and let Taylor choose the design. She picked Monet’s “Water Lillies and Japanese Bridge.” Ever since then, the magnet has been hanging on her fridge. Nearly four years later, the two took a weekend trip to Princeton, NJ. While visiting the art museum at Princeton University, they wandered through the galleries, admiring the artwork together. Then Taylor spotted the original Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge. As she turned back toward Jace, he was already down on one knee. In front of the painting that started it all, he asked her to marry him and she said yes to marrying the love of her life.
