There is a TON to do all in one place at the Stockyards. You can eat some of the best steak in Texas (at Riskey's Steakhouse or H3), shop at a variety of Western stores that are only in the Stockyards, tour museums/hall of fames, enjoy the bars both above and below ground (plus you can walk around with your drinks) and see the famous Texas Longhorns at 4:00pm daily walking down the Stockyards main street!
We have not been to this zoo yet, but both Dallas and Fort Worth have zoos for families to check out!
Another zoo we have not been too, but this one has been recommended to us before by people who live here.
Dallas aquarium is supposed to be one of the best in Texas!
Art aficionados will love exploring this walkable, vibrant cultural enclave, which spans 20 city blocks and is filled with a diverse mix of acclaimed museums, theaters, and galleries Not to be missed are the restaurants and food trucks serving up international culinary creations that are artistic in their own right.
For those who want to check out the home of the Dallas Cowboys...
Our much smaller city of Waco has a really nice zoo as well!
We have been here before and it's a fun place to learn about the history or Waco, Texas as the birthplace of Dr. Pepper! Plus, you can get a complimentary Dr. Pepper on the way out and sign up to make your own soda!
For all our HGTV Chip and Joanna Gaines fans! Magnolia is a popular tourist spot, but I've been here many times and always enjoy the shops/silos. Down the street is Magnolia Table, which has delicious food but very long wait times.
We have not had the chance to check this place out yet, but if you love history this could be something to check out and learn about the history of Texas Rangers.
There are three Terry Black's in Texas, but the Dallas location is the original one. We have eaten at the Waco location and it is worth the hype :)
This is my (Taylor) favorite BBQ place in Waco...they sell out before 11:30AM every day, so get there early. The brisket is delicious with their spicy BBQ sauce!
This is a good time place with pretty good food. George's has been a Waco tradition since 1930 and it a popular place to watch sports. They have goblet sized beer glasses and a million TVs for all sports fans!
Very fancy and pricey, but really good food if you want to have a date night while you are in town.
Jace and I LOVE this place! It's Cajun seafood and we recommend trying the fried alligator bites, I promise they are good...
We go to Cricket's often to play pool and order pitchers of beer...the food is pretty good here too, but this is mostly a hangout place/bar with sports on the TVs and an arcade room.
A variety of food options in downtown Waco (which also has some shops and fun things to explore). I recommend the wing place or the pizza place in here.
The one BBQ place we haven't tried in Waco yet...but I've been told it's the best here!
Great BBQ, but will also sell out early in the afternoon! They have the best "gravy" for their brisket in my opinion.
