Jace and I met in microbiology lab which was a prerequisite course for nursing school. He sat in the same area as me which meant that we were placed into the same group for our projects. We started talking and flirting, then we eventually exchanged numbers "for the group project." We then started texting each other and in November we met up at a Starbucks for a study date. No actual studying took place. The date went extremely well and we continued to see each other often over the next weeks until we made it official!

We went backpacking to Silver Glance Lake in American Fork Canyon. This is the first place we had ever backpacked together and it sparked our love of the hobby. We woke up early to enjoy the scenery, watch the sunrise, and brew coffee. Jace suggested that we set up the tripod and take a photo of ourselves while the lighting was so great. I stood in the frame while Jace got everything set up. He switched the camera to video and came over and dropped to one knee. I, of course, said "yes!"
