We first crossed paths as freshmen at Ohio University. Both biochemistry majors, we were thrown into the same whirlwind of lectures, labs, and late-night study sessions. It didn’t take long for us to bond over our shared passion for science and dreams of pursuing medicine. The years that followed were filled with challenges, from grueling coursework to navigating the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through it all, we became each other’s biggest supporters, cheering each other on and finding strength in our partnership. As graduation approached, we faced the daunting task of preparing for the MCAT. Long hours of studying, endless practice tests, and moments of doubt could have been overwhelming, but having each other made all the difference. When we both received acceptance letters to medical school at the same institution, it felt like fate was rooting for us. Medical school brought a new set of challenges and opportunities. Together, we navigated the demanding coursework, sleepless nights, and high-pressure environment. Amidst the chaos, we still found time to enjoy life, hanging out with friends, family, and creating memories that reminded us of the joy in everyday moments. No matter how hectic things got, our love and unwavering support remained a constant for each other. Now, as we approach another milestone—finding out where we will be for residency—we are filled with excitement and gratitude. Our journey so far has taught us that we can tackle anything as long as we have each other. We can’t wait to see where life takes us next and to continue building a future together, one step at a time.
