FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’d love for guests to dress up and celebrate with us! Dresses, jumpsuits, suits, sport coats, dress pants, and button-down shirts are all great options. Ties and jackets are welcome but not required. Please avoid jeans, shorts, and athletic wear. *Ceremony/Reception Indoors so May be Cooler Temperatures

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Due to space and planning limitations, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

To help us plan comfortably for all our guests, we are keeping the celebration to only those listed on the invitation.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

There is ample parking available at the venue’s main lot: 4343 George Flagg Pkwy, Des Moines, IA 50321 If you plan to enjoy alcohol at the wedding, we kindly ask that you arrange a safe ride in advance. There are plenty of rideshare options (Uber, Lyft, etc.) available to and from the Des Moines area.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We kindly ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the ceremony so you have time to get settled and be ready when it begins.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors at the same venue. Please note it may be a bit chilly inside due to the A/C, so you might want to bring a light layer. When you arrive, be sure to check the seating chart for your assigned table.

Question

Do you have a hotel block or lodging recommendations?

Answer

We do not have a hotel block, as there are plenty of lodging options in the Des Moines metro, including hotels and Airbnbs. We recommend staying in central or southern Des Moines to be close to the venue. For specific suggestions, please see our Travel page.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Because there isn’t a central lodging location, transportation will not be provided. Des Moines has plenty of rideshare options, including Uber and Lyft. If you plan to enjoy a few drinks, please arrange for a rideshare in advance.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

While we encourage you to capture the day, please be mindful of keeping your phone away during the ceremony. A few quick photos are welcome, but we ask that you remain present for the moment. During the cocktail hour and reception, we invite you to take as many photos and videos as you’d like and add them to our shared wedding album (QR code will be provided at the wedding).

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Following the ceremony, please join us for cocktail hour with drinks in the same venue--the bar will open at this time. The reception will begin immediately after in the same location, where we’ll enjoy dinner, dancing, and celebrating together.

Question

What should I do if I can't attend?

Answer

If you are unable to attend, please let Jace or Catherine know as soon as possible to allow for appropriate planning.

Question

Where is your registry?

Answer

If you’d like to help us make memories, we’d love contributions toward our newlywed fund. A traditional registry on Zola and Amazon will also be available.
