Jace and I met through a mutual friend our freshmen year at NDSU. We talked here and there and slowly started hanging out. I brought Jace to tailgate with my family for the 2015 homecoming game where everyone asked if we were "officially dating". A few days later, Jace asked me to be his girlfriend. We dated all through college, with Jace graduating in December 2019. After his graduation, he moved back to Linton and began looking for a job. I stayed in Fargo finishing my last semester of college. Jace accepted a job with an engineering firm in Bismarck right before COVID-19 hit. With all my classes now moved to online, we decided it made sense to find a place to live in Bismarck. We had talked about getting married for a while, but nothing seriously until I finally convinced Jace to go look at some engagement rings. Fast forward several month, it's Christmas time and we're celebrating with Jace's family in Deadwood. Jace suggested we go on a short hike Christmas Day to check out this cool look out tower and take some pictures . I should've known something was up because Jace doesn't willingly take pictures. We made it to the top of the hill and checked out the tower when Jace suggested we go check out this look out spot. We walked out onto the side of the hill, and I was taking in the beautiful view. I turned to my left to find Jace on one knee asking if I would marry him. I'm pretty sure I said yes at some point in between screaming "are you serious!?" and the rest is history. I cannot wait to marry my best friend.
