It all started at Top Golf, at least that's what I thought. But in reality Jace had seen me before. Jace was working in the Emergency Department at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View as an ED Tech. When, one shift he transported a patient up to the ICU, where I was working. I was supposedly intensely focused on receiving this patient that I did not even look at Jace once. In his words, he says it was not the time to approach me, even though he was interested. Several months go by, and our departments planned an ED and ICU TopGolf event for the staff. There was always contention between the units, so the directors thought it would be a good idea to meet outside of work. I almost decided not to go to the event because I was tired and wanted to rest, but had already promised co-workers I would attend and free food sounded nice! Jace tells me that once they planned this event he was hoping I would go, and he'd be able to see me again. I arrived first and was with my co-workers when I saw Jace walk in. He immediately caught my attention. I stayed mostly with my ICU co-workers, but Jace built up the courage to come over and introduce himself. Writing this now, I can still remember how it felt when he came over and shook my hand and stared into my eyes. For some reason, I felt an overwhelming feeling of a connection. As the night went on, we exchanged numbers because a group of us planned to go out together after the event. Jace was sweet and made sure I made it home safely since I had a longer drive. From that moment forward, we spoke every day. We both said we weren't planning to meet anyone, we had future plans that didn't involve getting into a serious relationship. I was planning on staying single and traveling. And Jace was planning on finishing nursing school and possibly joining the military. But we couldn't fight the feelings we had for each other. And this is the part where I say the rest is history? In all seriousness, Jace and I have gone through many trials that have shown me that we make a good team. Jace does not falter in who he is and will always do the right thing. Here we are now, planning to get married and have already built an amazing life together with Adriana. Our home life has become one of my favorite parts of my day. We can't wait to celebrate this day with all of you!
