Notes on the Weather

Answer

We will be in the peak of summer, however it is still a rainforest. Last year, on Labor Day weekend it was record heat in PDX, 90+. Summer clothes, active wear shoes and layers will be appropriate for PNW and sightseeing. We are planning an optional easy hike. All events other than wedding are casual. The wedding dress code is garden cocktail or black- tie optional. The whole event will take place outside and some areas are unpaved path ways and grass areas. Please bring comfortable shoes to enjoy the nature park day of wedding.

Question

Where to stay in Portland?

Answer

See Travel page for some of our recommended hotels and vacation rentals. Guests may choose their own accommodations based on needs and expense. There are great 2-3 star corporate hotel options right near portland airport, and some 3+ Star hotels located throughout the Pearl District, Downtown Portland and across the river in Vancouver, WA. All are no more than an easy Uber ride away from the wedding venue, shopping, and sight seeing in PDX/ Columbia River. Like most downtown areas, downtown portland and downtown vancouver are experiencing the nations homeless and drug epidemic. We suggest these hotels with this in mind and if you rent a vehicle do not leave anything in your vehicle. Violent crime is low in these areas but the crisis is visible walking down the portland waterfront.

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will only be providing transportation for bridal party. Hotels, Events and Wedding locations are all accessible via short drive within city limits. We suggest family and guests coordinate with ridesharing and/or share rental cars.
