Fly into Bilbao, Drive to San Sebastian

The most direct way to get to San Sebastian is to fly into Bilbao, Spain which is about ~1 hour drive from San Sebastian. From Bilbao, it is easy to either rent a car or take a shuttle into the city!

Fly into Madrid or Barcelona, Train to San Sebastian

Alternatively, you can fly into Madrid or Barcelona and take a train into San Sebastian (the fastest train routes take between ~5-6 hours). If you're going this route, you can book your train tickets to San Sebastian at most three months in advance, which is when most carriers begin to release tickets (apart from Eurostar, which releases six months in advance)

Old Town to Wedding Venue

We've arranged for shuttles to take you from downtown (also referred to as "Old Town") to the wedding venue. We highly recommend that you stay in Old Town to maximize walkability and minimize transportation annoyances (particularly since Uber is not a thing). Old Town has all of the cute shops, little bites (pinxtos), and easy access to the gorgeous Bay of Biscaye - it is the perfect place to be! Shuttle Pick-Up Location: Paseo Republica Argentina 4 Destination: Palacio Miramar (wedding venue) There will also be a return shuttle after the party is over. There are three departure times: Midnight 1am 2am Drop off location is same as pickup, Paseo Republica Argentina 4. Uber is not really a thing in San Sebastian, so please keep this in mind as you plan your trip!

This is a super cute, highly rated boutique hotel but it is a bit further away from the "action" of Old Town. It's ~20 min walk away from the downtown area, but the walk is not hard - terrain is all flat / easy! Jon and Ariella stayed here in the summer of 2024 and loved it!!
