The dress code for the wedding is cocktail! This means nice dresses, dressy jumpsuits, jackets with ties, or something else that makes you feel classy.
The easiest answer is by car. The hotel block is around 50 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport and around 1 hour 20 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport. Alternatively, there are regional trains from Philadelphia 30th Street Station that will get close to our hotel block. The first is the Warminster (WAR) train to Willow Grove (~20 minute drive from the hotels). The second is the Lansdale (LAN) train to Doylestown (~10 minute drive from the hotels). The Airport (AIR) train will take you from the Philadelphia International airport to either of these options.
We respectfully request no children under the age of 12 attend the ceremony/reception Saturday night. However, all children are more than welcome to attend any of the other wedding weekend events.
The Friday night welcome party is located in the center of Doylestown. Complimentary parking is available after 5 p.m. on the streets surrounding the Main Street Marketplace. Additionally, a pay lot is located directly behind the Main Street Marketplace. For the wedding Saturday night, Aldie mansion has plenty of parking. If you would prefer to not worry about driving, we will have two shuttles leaving the Homewood Suites Doylestown at 4:45pm and returning later in the evening.
We have decided to forgo a registry as your presence at our wedding is present enough!
For all you non-barbershoppers out there, you may be wondering: "what's an Afterglow?" For our purposes, think of it as an after party. Join us to chat and hang out in a more relaxed setting, and maybe even sing a tag or two (Abby will not be singing). Afterglow will be held at the Homewood Suites after the reception is over. Casual attire (aka pajamas) is encouraged!
Aldie Mansion was built in 1927 as the private residence of William and Martha Mercer. This historic home was commissioned as an ode to the English Tudor manor and hosted international luminaries including the Von Trapp family. Now, the mansion is used as a headquarters for the Heritage Conservancy as well as hosting special events (like our wedding!)
