We're getting married!

We met in Barcelona while both on separate trips with friends. Zaahira was on a girls’ trip and Jabari was there on a guys’ trip when we crossed paths during a night out and exchanged numbers. Jabari followed up that night and again the next morning, but Zaahira was supposed to be heading home, so it didn’t turn into much more at the time. Then Zaahira missed her flight that day. And the following day. And the day after that. Missing three flights in a row, something that had never happened before, kept her in Barcelona for an additional three days. During that time, we ended up at the same pool party at the W Hotel and spent the day together, dancing, laughing, and having fun. Everything felt easy and aligned. What started in Barcelona turned into a year and a half of long distance, countless flights, and very intentional communication. In April 2025, Jabari surprised Zaahira with a private proposal at the Montage Hotel in Park City, Utah. We can’t wait to start this next chapter together and celebrate with the people we love most.
