Late January in New Orleans is usually mild and comfortable, with average temperatures ranging from the mid-40s to low 60s. It’s a good idea to bring layers and maybe a light jacket—perfect weather for celebrating without breaking a sweat!
A second line is a classic New Orleans tradition—a joyful parade led by a brass band, with the "first line" being the band and the "second line" being everyone dancing and celebrating behind them! Expect music, umbrellas, handkerchiefs, and lots of energy. It’s one of our favorite parts of the city’s culture, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
The second line walk will be a short and festive 3-block parade from the church to the venue! We’ll spend about 10 minutes dancing in the streets with a drink or refreshment in hand before making our way over. Since it could be chilly in January, please dress accordingly—we’ll have a coat rack available at Il Mercato for your convenience. If you’re unable to walk, no worries—just let Izzy and Sam know in advance, and we’ll have a pedicab ready for you!
We love your little ones, but we’re keeping the celebration adults-only. We hope this gives you a chance to let loose and enjoy a night out! If you need help finding a babysitter please reach out to Izzy. Thank you for understanding.
Yes! There is a parking lot located between the church and reception venue!
