The Wedding Website of Isabel DiVita and Alex Harlan
The Carey Institute for Global Good is where all of the weekend's events will be held; from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony, reception and the after party. We hope all can stay Friday and/or Saturday to celebrate throughout the weekend! Above is a site map of The Carey Institute for Global Good. As you can see, everything you will need all weekend is located on premises (check things to do tab for activities in the area). The Carey Institute has a restaurant and brewery on site, along with multiple residences/houses that the guests will be staying in. The style of the accommodations are that of a bed and breakfast. There are four different estates on the property, and we will have exclusive use of the property for the weekend's festivities. Looking forward to everyone joining us all weekend to celebrate!
Question

Do we need to book a room?

Answer

No. The Carey Institute is unique in that staff does not designate rooms, but the bride and groom do. Once everyone has RSVP'd, Isabel and Alex will assign the room and building based on bed size (queen, full, or twin), party size (1 bed, 2 beds, 3 beds, etc) and groups (family, friends, bridal party, etc). The Carey Institute for Global Good will not take reservations. Room prices (not price per person) range from $119-$219 plus taxes. Breakfast will be added onto rooms based on how many people are staying in each room. It will be approximately $35 per person to cover both breakfasts, Saturday and Sunday. Alex and Isabel are covering all other meals. Rooms are available both Friday and Saturday night. Payment for your room is collected when you arrive. They accept all major credit cards.

Question

When can we check in?

Answer

Guests can check in starting Friday afternoon at 4pm. The rehearsal dinner will begin at 7pm, and all are welcome to join. Check out by Sunday at 11am.

Question

What about food and drink?

Answer

Breakfast for both Saturday and Sunday are included in the cost of your room. All other meals (dinner Friday, lunch Saturday and dinner Saturday) will be provided by Alex and Isabel. Breakfast will be from 8am-10am on both Saturday and Sunday. Lunch on Saturday will be "brown bag" style, so you can take it to-go with you for your day's activities. You can pick it up following breakfast between 10am-noon. You are more than welcome to venture off site if you'd like to explore the area and eat in any of the nearby towns. There is a brewery on site, as part of the Institute's environmental stewardship initiative, that makes creative brews with local ingredients for you to enjoy throughout your stay.

Question

What is the Carey Institute for Global Good, anyway?

Answer

The Carey Institute for Global Good is dedicated to making a better world by contributing to a strong, educated and just society. Essentially, it is a privately funded non-profit institution that functions as a think tank for positive global change. It hosts events and funds programs that support education, environmental stewardship and the arts; locally and globally. In hosting the weekend and staying at the Carey Institute, we are all contributing to making the world a more educated, sustainable and compassionate place.
