Blue Ridge Parkway

Roanoke has access onto the Blue Ridge Parkway right at Mill Mountain. It will be peak Autumn leaves changing season! There are several outlooks and hiking trails all along the highway.

Mill Mountain Star

See the beautiful skyline views of Roanoke at the world's largest freestanding illuminated man-made star. There are walking paths throughout this park and is right next to the Roanoke Zoo.

McAfee Knob

One of the most famous hiking trail skylines in the appalachia area. The knob features a 270-degree panoramic view of the Catawba Valley and North Mountain to the west, Tinker Cliffs to the north, and the Roanoke Valley to the east. The trail is rated moderately challenging and takes about 4+ hours to complete

Natural Bridge State Park

Go see the 200-foot tall Natural Bridge that sits in a limestone gorge carved out by Cedar Creek. This National park is near our wedding venue outside of Lexington.

Carvin's Cove

Enjoy one of the many parks in town at Carvin's Cove! There are several hiking trails with beautiful nature top views. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks, or enjoy a nice picnic. Parking is cash only or reserve your parking ticket online.
