We're getting married!

If you asked us how our story began, you’d probably hear two very different versions. One of them is accurate…and then there’s Trent’s. From my side (Izzy’s), I was at the bar in Encinitas with friends, grabbing a drink, when some guy tapped me on the shoulder. We ended up talking for an hour in the middle of all the noise and chaos, and the rest is history—we’ve been inseparable ever since. Now, if you ask Trent, he’ll say I walked up to him, clearly interested, and he simply took his chance. Which is definitely not how it went…but I’ll let him have his moment. Whichever story you choose to believe, I’ll always be grateful he made the first move—and kept being persistent. We were in the right place, at the right time, with the right person.

We were on our first vacation together in Barbados. It was a beautiful Tuesday, and our resort, Sandals, offered a complimentary photo session. I thought it would be nothing more than a fun chance to take some cute pictures together—just another part of our trip. We wandered around the resort, snapping photos at different spots, including the beach. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. But then we turned the corner into a stunning garden filled with flowers, and I heard a saxophonist playing. Immediately, I thought, Oh, there must be a wedding going on!—so I started to turn back. That’s when Trent took my hand and asked, “Are you ready for this?” Confused, I replied, “Ready for what?” He gently pulled me back toward the garden, and in that moment, I realized…this was for me. There were flowers scattered across the floor, a blanket with pillows, champagne, and so much thought poured into every detail. It was the most beautiful surprise I could have imagined. In that breathtaking setting, my best friend and the love of my life asked me to spend forever with him. It was emotional, unforgettable, and absolutely perfect. Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with the love we share.
