No. We have a limited headcount for this experience, and while it was a difficult decision, we must stand firm. No minors will be allowed at the ceremony or reception unless approved by both Izel and Alcino. This doesn’t mean you can’t bring them to Ecuador, just please note they will not be part of the official wedding events. Additionally, no extra guests will be permitted. Due to our limited guest count and assigned seating, we want to avoid any uncomfortable or awkward situations. Your guests are welcome to travel with you to Ecuador, but they will not be attending the ceremony or reception. We truly appreciate your understanding and thank you for respecting our wishes.
Ideally, book your flights 3 to 6 months in advance, as this is typically when prices are most economical.
Yes! You must stay at this hotel. It’s located close to our wedding venue, and we’ve already coordinated shuttle service to and from the celebration. Our wedding will take place in Puembo, a charming but small town, so it makes the most sense for everyone to stay together for the best experience. Bonus: Puembo is only 20 minutes from the airport, making departures on Sunday super convenient!
Ideally, plan to arrive in Ecuador at least 2 days before the wedding. This will give you time to: Adjust to the altitude (Quito and the surrounding areas are quite high!), Recover from jet lag or any travel delays, Explore the city a bit before the festivities, Attend any pre-wedding events, like a welcome dinner or group outings. If you have extra time, arriving 5–7 days early is perfect for taking short trips to places like Baños, Mindo, or the Hot Springs.
That’s totally fine as long as it works for you! The hotel is a convenient option, just a 20-minute drive to and from the airport, which is great for guests with limited time off. We’ll also have a fun-filled day at the hotel on Friday before the wedding: relaxing by the pool, playing some fútbol, enjoying the beautiful gardens, and of course the welcome event!
Please do! We want to spend as much time as possible with all of you. We'll be in Ecuador one week before the wedding and would love to travel and cross paths along the way. Send us a message so we can coordinate, just know that your presence means the world to us, and we truly can’t wait to share this time together.
This is a summer wedding. I want to see you in your most vibrant and lively colors! You know the rules: no white. I also love any chance for my friends to dress up, so let’s go all out! For women, a floor-length dress is perfect, and for men, a suit is the way to go. P.S. ladies bring an extra pair of comfy shoes for the reception.
Yes, we will have an open bar at our wedding featuring a selection of wines and specialty cocktails. That being said, you are more than welcome to bring your preferred drink if you’re loyal to a specific spirit.
Yes! Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. Late arrivals will not be permitted to join the seated area, no exceptions.
In Quito, the weather during the first week of June is typically mild. Daytime highs average around 68°F, while nighttime lows can drop to about 44°F. With this in mind, be sure to pack a jacket and a raincoat. Quito’s weather can be unpredictable, some days are rainy, while others are sunny and warm, so it’s best to come prepared for all conditions.
We recommend learning at least some basics. Not only will this help you avoid getting overcharged, but it also shows respect for the culture through your effort to adapt. That said, many people in Ecuador do speak English, so you won’t be left without support but still, give it a try. Download Duolingo and start practicing!
If you’re feeling generous, we would greatly appreciate any monetary gifts toward our honeymoon or upgrading our home. Slide over to the registry tab for more details.
The currency in Ecuador is the US dollar. How convenient! That said, please be sure to carry some cash with you, as some vendors do not accept cards.
Of course, Ecuador is generally safe, but as with most places, it’s important to be mindful of your surroundings. Avoid walking around looking down at your phone or wearing overly flashy clothing. The locals take great care with their appearance, so this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look good just be mindful not to stand out too much. And, as we’ve mentioned before, traveling in groups is always a good idea.
That’s totally up to you! What do you hope to get most out of this experience? If you want a city vibe, stay in Quito. For adventure, head to Baños. And if you’re looking for a cozy rainforest town, Mindo is perfect.
We are offering shuttle service for all our guests to and from the hotel and the wedding venue. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 PM. We will have two shuttles picking up guests at 2:30 PM and 2:45 PM. Once one shuttle fills up, the second will take an additional trip if needed. For the return to the hotel, we encourage all guests to stay for the entire celebration, so we are offering one shuttle pickup at midnight. If you need to leave earlier, you may arrange your own taxi transportation.
