The Wedding Website of Isabelle Groper and Joey Ives
Photo from another wedding at our venue, the Ag Hall! Below we have detailed information about getting to Martha's Vineyard and answered a few questions about the weekend! Please reach out to us by emailing iveswedding22@gmail.com with any other questions.
Question

Are Kids Welcome?

Answer

We will not be welcoming any children to our Wedding ceremony or reception on Saturday, but would love to see your kiddos at the Welcome Reception on Friday and/or the Brunch on Sunday! Thank you so much for understanding.

Question

Is there a Dress Code?

Answer

Nope! While we do not want to ask for any specific dress code, we would love to see our guests in something that is celebratory and elevated from the every-day. Use this as an excuse to dress up and have fun with it! Dresses, suits, blazers, etc.. Please keep in mind that early June could get chilly on the Vineyard - plan for a layer to have for the outdoor portions.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please send us an email with the subject "food allergy" to notify us at iveswedding22@gmail.com

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! You can park at the Ag Hall for our wedding and you can also leave your car there overnight if needed.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Please see the "Schedule" section of our website for all events.

Question

About The Island

Answer

If you have never been to Martha’s Vineyard, you’re in for a treat. Though it is an island, it is still home to about 23,000 year-round residents (including Joey’s parents, Sandy and Sherwood!). There are six different towns - Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, West Tisbury, Chilmark, and Aquinnah - the first three of which have the majority of the island’s hotels and restaurants. You will see in the “Lodging” section where we have reserved rooms and suggested booking hotels or rental houses. Keep in mind the island is not all that small, so be aware of travel time for events when booking your stay! Ubers and taxis will definitely be an option outside of our planned event shuttles, but read on to see about bringing your car (or renting one) on the island…

Question

Transportation for the Weekend

Answer

There will be shuttles to and from the wedding on Saturday leaving from the main towns we suggest staying in under “Lodging”. There are taxi and rideshare services available (i.e. Uber) for any other events throughout the weekend as well. That said, those that are planning to spend a few days on the island and/or want to explore on a whim will likely want a car as the island’s beaches and towns are spread out. The only way to bring your own car to the island is to travel via the Woods Hole Ferry and car reservations book up quickly (see below). There are several rental car options as well from Hertz, Budget, etc. and there are pick-up locations at the airport as well near the Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs ferry terminals.

Question

Traveling by Plane to the Island

Answer

The Martha’s Vineyard Airport is a great option for those far from Cape Cod who are not concerned with having their own car (rentals are still an option) on the island. There are plenty of direct flights from Boston and New York (as well as other connecting cities) every weekend. We suggest booking flights ASAP to get a good price!

Question

Ferry Boats to the Island (Walk-On)

Answer

The Woods Hole ferry (cheapest, most accessible option) does not require advance walk-on reservations and you won’t have trouble catching one of the many ferries running daily from this port on our wedding weekend. It is super easy to park for the weekend in one of the Steamship Authority's parking lots and they shuttle you straight to the ferry! Please go to steamshipauthority.com/schedules to see the Martha's Vineyard schedule for our wedding weekend. **Be mindful when choosing your ferry time on the schedule since they go into different ports throughout the day (VH (Vineyard Haven) and OB (Oak Bluffs)). You can either walk to your hotel or take one of the cabs waiting at the terminals.** The New Bedford ferry, the Hyannis ferry and the Falmouth Ferry are all walk-on-only ferries and will have schedules available on their website (just google one of the above with "Marthas Vineyard").

Question

Ferry Boats to the Island (Drive-On)

Answer

The Woods Hole ferry is the only ferry you can take if you are bringing your car to the island. As such, car reservations book up! Reservations can be made online on their website (steamshipauthority.com) or by phone here: (508) 693-9130. The 2024 information packet is also available on the website with info on costs (it’s about $270 for round-trip car reservations).
