Ivy was immediately attracted to David's online dating profile (Hinge), and quickly asked him what his favorite karaoke song was since his profile expressed his love for karaoke. Even though Ivy had deleted Hinge for other reasons right after David responded to her, when she came back on a week or so later, she saw that he had messaged her again so she thought she might respond. Ivy and David met at King's for their first date where the connection was undeniable. David knocked Ivy off her feet by asking her if she had any food allergies (which she has many) before ordering, paying for the bill and telling her, "you could be anywhere in the world but you are here with me" and walking her to her car in which he told her with the cutest smile to "not be a stranger" Seven amazing dates later, David and Ivy had their first kiss at Marina Bay and when they kissed, fireworks went off at the same time near the water and they knew right then that they were meant to be together. They have been inseparable ever since!

On July 9, 2019, David and Ivy's one year anniversary of their first date, David took Ivy to Marina Bay, the same place where they had their first kiss and where David asked Ivy to be his girlfriend! Despite Ivy having to go to the bathroom and messing up David's perfect timing of the day, David took Ivy to the pier and when Ivy turned around, David was down on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him! David had a photographer set up and got the most beautiful shots on a beautiful sunny afternoon. To top it all off, David continued the day with a surprise engagement party with all of their loved ones! July 9 and Marina Bay will always hold a special place in David and Ivy's hearts! Now let's get married!
