The Sikh ceremony (June 21st) has a dress code, but the reception (June 22nd) is a traditional wedding—wear whatever you’d like!
For Women: We encourage wearing traditional attire like a salwar kameez, or lehenga. However, if you prefer not to wear traditional clothing, formal attire such as a dress or pants and a blouse is also appropriate. Bright, vibrant colors are welcome, but please avoid wearing white, as it is traditionally reserved for funerals. Modesty is key, so dresses and tops should have sleeves, and skirts/dresses should cover the knees. A head covering (scarf or dupatta) is required when entering the Sikh temple. For Men: We recommend wearing formal or semi-formal attire, such as pants and a button-up shirt or polo. A head covering (such as a scarf or bandana) is required when entering the Sikh temple. These are available at the gurdwara if needed.
The Sikh wedding ceremony (Anand Karaj) will be conducted in Punjabi, while the Mexican wedding ceremony will be in Spanish.
Expect a mariachi band and the money dance, where guests can pin money to wish us well.
While gifts are not required, if you'd like to give us something, we encourage using our registry. There will also be a gift table available at the reception for any physical gifts you wish to bring. Your presence is the most important gift to us!
