We met in 2014 in Downey California at Mamba Grill as we were both attending a fundraising event for LBSA (Felipe says LSBA but that's wrong ha ha ha). Felipe was attending as an alumni and Ivet as a newly transferred college student. We hardly spoke that night as there wasn't really an opportunity nor time but well that's all it was, the initial meet. We began to talk more at other functions we'd both randomly find ourselves to be and it was different. We felt a connection though neither one of us took a step towards anything more than having a wonderful friendship. We continued to talk and just like most who don't take an opportunity, we lost touch and life took us on different paths. We bumped into each other at a mutual friend's birthday celebration and we instantly reconnected. As if no time had ever passed. We went out on a date soon afterwards that led to 4 months of dating. Felipe popped the question to be boyfriend and girlfriend in Long Beach, February 2017. Our relationship has continued to blossom with its hurdles as most other couples experience, however, we have only ever grown more in love with each other and solidified our relationship. Felipe finally (yup, finally) decided to pop the bigger question whilst on a date in, you guessed it, Long Beach. Felipe had booked a gondola ride, an activity Ivet had always wanted to do and never had the chance. Felipe did well in catching Ivet unaware to his proposal. Felipe proposed under East Toledo Bridge on April 22, 2023. Ivet said YES and thus here we are preparing for a wedding that will forever unite us.
