The Wedding Website of Ivana Mesaric and Tucker McCready
About Hvar Hvar holds a special significance to Ivana & Tucker, it is one of the most beautiful islands off the coast of Croatia, famous for its luxury yachting, fresh Mediterranean cuisine, vineyards, and history. We know it is a bit of a far journey, but promise it will fully be worth it once you're there! Hvar is the most lively of all the Croatian islands, famous worldwide for its crystal clear blue water, incredible sunsets and picture perfect old towns – all within a lush Mediterranean setting! It’s the kind of place where you can walk to an Ancient Fortress for sunrise and then spend the rest of the day relaxing by the yacht-filled Riviera, pretty pebbled beach or even vineyard – this island is full of interesting and magical moments. You won’t want to leave!

Travel Note

How to get to Hvar?

The most direct access to Hvar island is from the Croatian coastal cities of Dubrovnik and Split. There are frequent daily flights to both cities from many EU/European hubs and each has daily, year-round ferry/catamaran/private speedboat service to Hvar island. You can fly directly from New York to Dubrovnik, and then take a 3.5 hour boat ferry from Dubrovnik: https://www.croatiaferries.com/dubrovnik-hvar-ferry.htm or You can fly into Split, and then take a 45-minute fast ferry to Hvar Town. (Tucker and I would recommend doing this option if you don't mind taking a connecting flight) https://www.jadrolinija.hr/en/about-us/ships/ferries Make sure you take the ferry to Hvar Town (not Starigrad Hvar), and ask Ivana & Tucker if you have a question as to which ferry to book. Both cities, are beautiful if you want to spend a day or two in. If you are a Game of Thrones Fan, we'd recommend staying in Dubrovnik for a night, or even Korcula if you want to see where they filmed the Yacht scenes from Succession. Split also has a rich history, vibrant, restaurants and nightlife, scenes from Game of Thrones were also filmed here.

Hotel

Suncani Hvar Hotels

Hvar, Split-Dalmatia County 21450, Croatia

Through our venue, we are offering our guests 20% off their stay at any Suncani Hvar Hotel. We recommend Hotel Adriana, Palace Elizabeth, Hotel Riva Marina, Or Hotel Beach Bay. Note- we would not recommend staying in Amfora, although the amenities and pool area are nice, the rooms are unrenovated and old (just a suggestion, if you are looking for a lower cost option, there are so many Airbnb options that are wonderful!) If you really would like to stay at Amfora for the pool and amenities, some of the suites seem to be renovated and nicer. If you would like to choose a hotel separate from the options we provided, make sure you stay somewhere close by, you can google options near our venue "Beach Club Hvar" or by the port where the ferry drops you off. Tucker and I are always available to help by text or call, we want all of our guests to feel comfortable booking their trip!

Flight

United Airlines Direct flight to Dubrovnik from Newark

If you are flying from New York, we would recommend flying on the direct flight from Newark to Dubrovnik. This is the quickest option to get to Croatia and is the only direct flight from the New England Area. Otherwise, we would suggest flying into Split and taking the short ferry to the island of Hvar. Tucker and I are available at any time to help plan your itinerary if you'd like to turn this into a longer trip.

Flight

Non-Direct Flight into Split

There are many different ways to get to Split, from various parts of the United States, we would suggest using Kayak or Skyscanner to find the best flight.
