The Beginning of a Journey:

February 10,2023 7:00 PM - The Beginning of Forever

In a small, unassuming town in Mexico, Itzel was born into a family that already had three sons. Her parents, expecting and hoping for a boy, were surprised when Itzel arrived. While some might see such an entrance into the world as inauspicious, it became clear that God had extraordinary plans for her. From a young age, Itzel exhibited a boundless curiosity and a drive to explore the world beyond her borders. As she grew up, her love for travel blossomed, with dreams that carried her beyond the limits of her childhood town. Itzel was determined to see the beauty and diversity of God’s creation firsthand. When she finally embarked on her first solo Eurotrip, she stepped out with nothing but faith, determination, and a backpack. The experience was exhilarating—rich in sights, culture, and new friends. It culminated in Paris, where she wandered wide-eyed through the City of Light, absorbing every moment like it was meant just for her. But when the trip came to an end, something unexpected happened. Itzel’s flight back home was canceled. Instead, she was rerouted through Boston, a city she knew little about, for what was supposed to be a mere 14-hour layover. She thought about staying at the airport, tired from weeks of travel, but her brother encouraged her to step out and see what Boston had to offer. She reluctantly agreed and wandered through the streets, taking in the blend of old history and new life. With each step, something stirred in her spirit. It wasn’t just the beauty of Boston’s cobbled streets and vibrant culture—it was a whisper in her heart. By the time she boarded her flight back to Mexico, Boston was no longer just a layover; it was a call to a new beginning. Back home, Boston haunted her thoughts. Driven by what felt like divine direction, she began to work tirelessly, saving every peso with a singular goal: to make her way back. When she finally stepped off a plane to begin her new life in Boston, she knew it wouldn’t be easy. Every challenge was met with faith—finding housing, securing a job, building a new life from the ground up. Then, as if to test her resolve, the pandemic struck. Isolation was hard. Life was uncertain. But giving up wasn’t in Itzel’s nature. She leaned into her faith, trusted God’s plan, and found strength she didn’t know she possessed. The Meeting of Two Hearts: And then, at precisely the right moment, Itzel met Lucas. By all accounts, Lucas had a full life of his own. He was kind-hearted, ambitious, and radiated warmth wherever he went. Lucas loved to explore and had a passion for all things Star Wars, a trait Itzel initially found both funny and endearing. But their connection went beyond shared interests. From their very first conversations, Itzel and Lucas found themselves drawn together by something deeper—a spiritual bond that made each interaction feel like a gift. After a month of long chats, shared jokes, and heartfelt conversations, they decided it was time to meet in person. Their first date was meant to be a simple dinner, nothing too elaborate. But as soon as they saw each other, something clicked. The planned meal turned into hours of talking and laughing, and by the end of that night, neither wanted it to end. It wasn’t just a date—it was the beginning of their story.

Building Traditions and Memories:

As their relationship deepened, Itzel wanted to surprise Lucas in a special way. Though she knew little about Star Wars at the time, she managed to get tickets to a live orchestral performance of the film’s soundtrack in downtown Boston. Lucas was thrilled, and the evening became one of their cherished memories, cementing their connection through gestures of love and thoughtfulness. They began making a habit of surprising each other, weaving small moments of joy and creativity into their days together. Lucas, in turn, became a rock for Itzel. He helped her settle into her new apartment, tackling any handyman tasks that came up and always offering encouragement. His steadfast presence reminded her that she wasn’t alone in her journey. God had placed Lucas in her life, not just as a partner but as a source of strength. A Trip to Mexico: When the time felt right, Itzel invited Lucas to travel with her to Mexico and meet her family. It was a big step. Lucas had never been to Mexico and felt a mix of nerves and anticipation. Itzel was excited for him to see the world that shaped her. Together, they walked the streets of her hometown. Lucas met her family, embraced her community’s warmth, tasted the rich flavors of her culture, and heard stories that illuminated her past. The experience brought them even closer, deepening their appreciation and love for one another.

Looking ahead with Faith

Back in Boston, Itzel and Lucas continued to build their life together. They discovered a shared love for exploring small towns and cozy coffee shops. Weekends were often spent savoring cappuccinos and lattes, seeking out hidden cafés with unique atmospheres. One of their favorite spots became a charming coffee shop in Vienna, discovered during a memorable trip with Itzel’s college friends. That journey left a lasting mark—not just for the places they saw but because, after days of being inseparable, they knew they couldn’t imagine a future apart. As time passed, Lucas’s feelings for Itzel grew stronger. He knew he couldn’t let her go. When the moment felt right, he led her back to a special place—an old stone church by the reservoir where they had shared one of their first dates. With a hidden photographer ready to capture every precious moment, Lucas knelt and asked the most important question of his life: “Will you marry me?” Tears streamed down Itzel’s face as she said yes, feeling the weight of God’s grace and timing in bringing them together. Now, Itzel and Lucas walk forward together, hand in hand, embracing whatever the Lord has planned for their future. Their love story is a testament to divine design and God’s perfect timing. Neither could have predicted that their paths would cross in such a remarkable way. But with faith, perseverance, and trust in God’s plan, they’ve found a love that feels like home. This story is more than a tale of travel, challenges, and romance. It’s a testimony to faith, listening to God’s call, and discovering the blessings He has in store when we surrender to His plans. Itzel and Lucas know that as they walk into their next chapter, they will do so with faith, courage, and the unwavering belief that, whatever life brings, they are in it together, with God at the center of it all.
