We met working as summer day camp counselors at Houston's First Baptist. We ended up spending a lot of time together that summer because we were the only two who volunteered to work the crafts station. By the end of the summer, we knew there was something more to our friendship. We went out on our first "official" date at Tea House. Five years and a million cups of boba later, here we are.
We had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning because Tim said he had a surprise for me. All throughout our relationship, I have been known to figure out surprises before we get to them – Tim hates that. So, as soon as we got in the car that morning, I asked if we were going to ride a hot air balloon, and Tim simply replied, "no, it's too expensive," and we went on our way. When we got to our destination, we got into a creepy white van that drove up to a clearing in the middle of the woods (if there weren't other people with us, I'd think we were getting kidnapped!) But, when we got to the clearing there were hot air balloons! When we were up in the air, I could tell Tim was super nervous. Then, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said YES, the lady next to us started bawling, and the people in the other hot air balloon cheered! It was definitely a morning to remember.
