This is where we party! We chose this as our venue as it is where Victoria's parents and grandparents had their wedding receptions. Originally built in 1911, we love the history and beauty that comes with its age.
This is the church that our families grew up in. Victoria went to grade school here and it holds a lot of heartwarming memories. We also are very excited to have Deacon John marry us here where he has been a deacon for many years. Deacon John is Victoria's family favorite and a special person to the Yepsen family as he was a neighbor of Brent's beloved grandparents.
The Lovejoy Homestead is an 1838 Greek Revival farmhouse and a former station on the Underground Railroad. Visitors are able to view the area where runaway slaves were hidden. For its importance in our nation’s history, the Lovejoy Homestead was awarded National Historic Landmark status in 1997. Also located on the grounds is a restored one-room schoolhouse that is open for tours.
One of five remaining covered bridges in Illinois, this bridge was built in 1863 and is still open to traffic. It crosses Big Bureau Creek and was once part of the Peoria-Galena Trail. This beautiful landmark is a delight for artists, photograpers and nature lovers.
