Kate & Frank's fairytale began like most couples’... on Bumble. (That’s not how you old folks did it back in the day?) They matched on Valentine’s Day of 2018 but talked on and off for a few months. In August 2018, Kate was at the end of a backpacking trip through Europe when she received a message from Frank, letting her know that he would be backpacking through Europe in October but when he was back in November he wanted to get to know her better. Kate thought this was pretty weird to say so far out from November, but she's always been a planner & was intrigued by his Euro trip. They ended up bonding over Budapest... the city Kate was in at the moment & the city Frank would be going to on his trip. It turned out traveling was incredibly important to both of them & they ended up messaging each other daily for the next two months. Finally November came and they decided to meet at the train station and go into Brooklyn together to throw axes for their first date. (You know how most first dates go: meet for the first time on a LIRR platform to go throw sharp objects together) Frank barely made it to the train on time foreshadowing a lifetime of lateness for Kate who firmly believes being five minutes early means being on time. One date quickly became multiple dates and in December of 2019 Kate & Frank drove to Ohio to add a dog to their adventures. Hudson quickly proved to be a great addition even taking a road trip together to California & back. Clearly the next step after adding a dog was to, you guessed it; add another dog. A quick road trip to Kansas and enter Maui into the pack. In August of 2021, with their most prized possessions (Hudson & Maui) in tow, atop a mountain in Acadia National Park (on the hottest day Maine has ever seen) after waiting for some people who didn’t understand personal space at all to leave, Frank got down on one knee and asked Kate to spend the rest of her life with him. (Spoiler: she said “Yes!”) and now they can’t wait to celebrate with everyone they know this October!
