We're eloping October 21, 2019 in Grand Teton National Park with family among the trees!
We went to Japan for Thanksgiving. We hadn't slept in 40 hours and decided to go on a tour of the fish market at 5:30 am. We met some characters in our group who decided they wanted to tag along with us after the tour. Morgan welcomed them but Luke seemed stand-off-ish (trying to plan a proposal on the fly, in a foreign country is stressful). Luckily, Luke got one of their numbers and texted them, requesting that we nicely needed to ditch them. Morgan had no clue. Luke had secretly done some research on a the Japanese gardens in Tokyo with the best fall foliage at the moment. We went to the Rikugien Garden in one of the northern parts of Tokyo. The foliage was superb, but the crowds were like something else. It was packed with little room to even pass someone in front of you. After strolling around for an hour with little space to take advantage of the right moment, we made our way for the exit. Eyes peeled for an opportunity, Luke noticed this one area off to the side where there were three benches and the tallest trees we had seen in Japan, and no people. Our feet were hurting and Luke suggested we sit. He said "we've got a long adventure ahead of us," Morgan replied with "nine days isn't that long, but I guess." He got down on one knee and Morgan said "are you serious." It was all emotion after that.
