Joshua and I met in highschool my freshman year His Sophmore year. He bought me a reeses (my favorite candy) and told me to come hang out with him. We became bestfriends. All of our friends would tease us that we just needed to date already. It took us 2 years to realize we liked eachother. I even lost a $5 bet with a friend that i would never date him (I clearly lost). Our first date we went to the movies and I told my mom and sisters we were going as just friends. While we were watching the movie I heard his friends whisper to him to hold my hand and thats when I knew. Shortly after he asked me to be his girlfriend the tradional highschool way with a poster that said check yes or no and a bouquet of flowers. Who knew that October 6th 2012 would be the start of forever. We have been through a lot together, we have grown, matured, laughed A LOT, cried, adventured, and commited to forever since that day. We truly are best friends and each others biggest supporters.

We went on a trip to tahoe that we do every year & the day after we arrived We went & ate lunch over looking lake tahoe & its snowy montains. It was breathtaking. After we ate he knew I was going to ask to go take a picture by the water & thats exactly what I did. We walked outside & looked for someone to take our photo. A lady walked up to us and explained that she was a “new” photographer trying to expand her business & was looking for a couple to take photos of. she had asked if she could take some photos of Us. I was excited and said yes & turned to look at Josh & in typical manner he’s rolling his eyes saying that he’s cold and doesn’t want to sit out there & take a million photos. He eventually agreed & the lady took us over to a more private part of the beach where she was directing us on how to pose & what to do and snapping away. Mind you I still didn’t have a clue what was about to happen. She then said She had one last pose. She told me to stand right here & strike a pose & Joshua will stand behind you & pretend like hes checking you out. Anybody who knows Josh knows that this is not something he would normally do so I was curious how he was going to be looking at me (still cluless) & I kept trying to turn around & this lady yelled at me to keep looking forward, not to turn back around. Instead of being suspicious I just got irritated thinking lady I’m letting you take photos of us to help your business don’t yell at me. She snaps a few photos and then says OK we’re good so I turned around to see Joshua on one knee with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen him have and I absolutely lost it and started sobbing like a baby. He never quit smiling as he told me how much he loves me & how long he had waited to ask me. Of course in between crying I said Yes, sat down and cried some more. He let me in on the secret that this whole photo session was planned (to perfection) & On january 6th 2020 I said yes to becoming Mr. & Mrs. Gomes & a Farmer’s wife.
