Dan and Joanna both work for BH Management. She was the assistant manager at an apartment community in Charlotte, and he was an accountant at the corporate office in Des Moines. Dan wasn't just ONE of the accountants at Corporate, he was THE accountant for Joanna's property. Over the course of a year they had a normal work relationship where they occasionally shared work-related jokes. Joanna would mention to her co-workers that she really thought Dan was funny and wondered if he was single, but he lived in Des Moines so what would ever come of it?! Sometime in March 2019, Dan was reassigned to a different team with accounting, and would no longer be the accountant for Joanna's property. Being a supportive corporate member, Dan called the property to say his goodbye's, but told us he would always be an email away to help. As Dan was leaving for the day, he sent a message to Joanna saying "Well, you know how to get in contact with me." Before Dan even got to the parking lot, Joanna had already sent him a message on Facebook. She figured now was the chance to shoot her shot. They spent the next couple days texting back and forth. They knew the next step was to meet in person. Dan booked a flight to Charlotte a couple days later meeting face to face for the first time early April 2019. The spark was there immediately!! They spent the next 9 months flying back and forth to see each other until Joanna moved to Iowa in January 2020 to begin their life together...
