One of the most visited places in Colombia is Guatapé, located in Antioquia—less than two hours from Medellín. This colorful town is famous for its vibrant streets, stunning turquoise lake, and breathtaking scenery. We'll first stop at El Peñol, where you can climb 740 steps to the top of this massive rock for the best panoramic view of the lake. A small entrance fee applies (bring cash). Then, we'll continue to Guatapé, where you can: ∙ Explore the Colorful Zócalos – Admire the beautifully painted panels on houses, each depicting local history and trades. ∙ Head Out on Laguna Guatapé – Rent a kayak from local vendors and take in the stunning lake views. ∙ Try the Local Food – Enjoy delicious local flavors at restaurants and street vendors. Be sure to try the arepas, especially those with fresh cheese! Round-trip transportation is included.
