During the writers strike, Brandy and Jason were each paying their rent writing bad audio dramas for the same dumb company, Pocket FM (“hit” shows include “The Billionaire's Accidental Bride,” “My Vampire System,” and “The CEO's Secret Wife”). After Pocket FM laid off half its staff, the surviving writers from all over the world were encouraged to introduce themselves in the company Slack channel and say where they live and what they like to do outside of work. Fearing further retribution, Jason posted, “My name's Jason! I live in Glendale with my dog, Agnes. I love to cook and play tennis. Be my friend!” Brandy happened to be looking for a tennis partner and, seeing how Jason lived 15 minutes away, sent a DM: “Jason! We're neighbors. I'm in Eagle rock. I'm always looking for someone to play tennis with so let me know if you ever wanna hit!” They met, sight unseen, to play tennis at Scholl Canyon at 7:00 AM on Court 3. That was the last day either of them would be single ever again. One month later, they were both fired from Pocket FM on the exact same day. 20 months later, after playing tennis at the same spot, Court 3, Brandy and Jason got engaged. They are madly in love with each other and their dogs, Agnes and Stevie.
