ABOUT US

Michael and I met in Playa del Carmen while separately celebrating our friends bachelor/bachelorette parties. While at a nightclub, both our groups of friends mingled but we only had eyes for each other ;) Major coincidence that Michael had recently moved to Austin where I was living. It would not be the last time we would see each other, since Michael had promised me a date! Once we had recovered and were back in Austin for a couple weeks he asked me out on a date. A couple moves and a couple years later we are here and the happiest we've ever been! In September we welcomed our biggest blessing of all, Vida Graciela, and soon we will have the honor of celebrating our love with family and friends in San Miguel. Thank you to all that have joined us on our journey. We love you and are truly blessed.

About San Miguel de Allende

We are so excited to have you join us in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for our wedding! San Miguel is a Spanish colonial city nestled among Mexico's Sierra Madre mountains, approximately 170 miles northwest of Mexico City. With a population of about 140,000 people, San Miguel de Allende is a city that manages to be both quaint and cosmopolitan at the same time. Once an important stop on the silver route between Zacatecas and Mexico City, its historic center, known as El Jardín, is filled with well-preserved buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. With narrow and colorful cobblestone streets, beautiful courtyards and rooftops, and impressive architectural details, San Miguel is arguably the prettiest city in Mexico. In July 2008, UNESCO recognized San Miguel de Allende as a World Heritage of Humanity Site citing the town's religious and civil architecture as a demonstration of the evolution of different trends and styles, from Baroque to late 19th century Neo-Gothic. San Miguel de Allende was recently propelled into the limelight when Condé Nast Traveler named it "The Top City in the World" in 2017.

Travel Tips

-San Miguel de Allende is one of the most popular wedding destinations in North America. With that in mind, we urge our guests to reserve their stay sooner rather than later as hotels can be fully booked on the weekends in wedding season. April is the high season for San Miguel, so book soon! -If you are sensitive to noise while sleeping, bring ear plugs. San Miguel is a loud city - Fireworks! Church bells! -Not all houses or hotels are air-conditioned. Although the temperature is very mild and it gets cool at night, if air-conditioning is important to you, make sure to ask in advance when booking your accommodations. -San Miguel is almost 7,000 ft in elevation, so you might tire quickly during your first day if you aren't accustomed to high altitudes. Stay well hydrated. Tap water is not advised and it is safest to drink and brush teeth with purified bottled water.
