Where do I start? Alan and I met at The University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Alan and I both lived in the same apartment building next door from each other. I would always speak as he passed by. I thought he was so fine. I told my friend at the time "Girl one day he's going to be my boo". Of course, she looked at me as if I were crazy, but I was serious!! I din't know how or when it was going to happen; considering, we were both in relationships at the time. The beginning of 2012, Alan and I began to contact one another on social media. We agreed to stay in touch, we began dating shortly after this; with Underworld being our first date. Our first date was was only the beginning of a fresh start. After a few months of dating Alan asked me to be his Girlfriend and I gladly accepted!! :)
Courtney and I both attended the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. Although I thought she was a pretty girl, I didn't really pay her much attention. A few years after I graduated I periodically saw her at social events. She seemed to carry herself well so I decided one day to reach out to her. We communicated a little via social media, which lead to us communicating via text. After a few casual dates we began to spend time with each other regularly. One thing lead to another... Boom... Here we are!
Alan and I were at MSBU's Stepping With The Stars annual event at Potowatomi Casino. Alan and his brother Jamaal were directing traffic at the main doors outside the event. My sister's and I were collecting tickets and directing guests to their seats before the start of the event. After about an hour of collecting tickets, the amount of people began to dwindle and the foyer became less congested. Alan and his brother were speaking to us about an incident that happened at the door. we all gave our two cents and laughed about it. The men went for a bathroom break, my sisters' and I decided we were done with tickets; we decided it was a good time to grab our seats. None of us wanted to miss the first contestants. As I was gathering my things from the table (water bottle, lip gloss, and my program) the men were walking back in. Jamaal had his phone, I assumed he was doing something important. I honestly didn't think anything of it (He was recording the moment). Before my sisters' and I could walk away from the table, Alan said "Wait a minute y'all; do y'all want to hear a grown woman cry"? We all looked with confusion, and he said it again "Do y'all wan to see a grown woman cry"? Alan then gets down on one knee and uttered the words "Babe, let's do this. "Will you marry me"? With tears in my eyes and completely surprised I said YES!!! (I had no idea I would be that grown woman crying) LOL!
Alan and I both will say our vows in front of close family and friends on Sunday August 20th, 2017 at 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you and we are excited to share this day with you.
and the two will become one flesh, So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
