Chase & I have known each other since we were twelve years old; from playing soccer to being in band together. We were good friends all the way through junior and high school but didn't become close until junior year, when he was there for me when others fell short. Before I knew it, it was our last year of high school & our band director was beginning to get restless in waiting for Chase to ask me to be his girlfriend. He gave him a choice; to ask me himself by the end of the day or for our band director to announce it over the sound system at practice. So, you could say he is a big reason we have 09/22/18 marked on the calendar. Those months went by quickly & before we knew it, I was living four hours away from home in Fulton, Missouri for college. September 16, 2017 is a day I will never forget. It was the weekend before our three-year anniversary & Chase and Isaac decided to come to school to visit. As per a tradition we started freshman year of college, Annie was going to take our photos in a state park just 30 minutes from campus. We got all done up, just like the two years prior, & went out on the trail. Annie was taking some test shots as we made our way to our favorite spots. The first stop was the opening of a cave where, the first year we did photos, an elderly woman asked if we were doing an engagement session. Of course, when we arrived at that place, I made jokes about it. However, the joke was on me. After we had spent 10 to 15 minutes there, we made our way to the next spot, tucked on a trail in the trees & also my favorite spot. We did a few poses & I asked him if he wanted to do our signature one (he picks me up and I kiss his cheek). Instead of saying yes or no, Chase looked at me for a moment & then it happened. He got down on one knee & asked me to be his wife. The next few minutes were blurred by tears, hugs, & me repeatedly saying yes. Now, the planning is in motion & the days are being counted down until we are officially Mr. & Mrs. Goss!
