Adam and I met in high school, senior year Sociology. Adam liked me from the beginning but it took me some warming up. We went on ONE date in high school to see The Book of Eli. After that we talked off and on but, the start of our relationship didn’t take off until I started college in August of 2010. We shared a lot of memories over the next seven months and on March 14th we decided to make it official, rather I told him it was official. The day he proposed was our seven-year anniversary. He text me that day and said that we are going out to dinner and dress nice. When Adam came to pick me up, he had asked my roommate at the time to take our picture. After she took a few I hurried out the door. Adam hoped I would check the photos like I always do because during the mini photoshoot he held up the ring box on my shoulder. When we got to the car Adam had grabbed my hand and told me to wait a minute. I of course was annoyed because I was in a dress and cold. He kissed me, told me he loved me, and I again tried to turn around and get in the car. He grabbed my hand and said wait. I could tell he was nervous. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes but didn’t even give him a chance to put the ring on my finger, I already grabbed it from the box and put it on myself. In my defense, I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment! Our relationship over the past nine years has made us stronger. We’ve both grown and matured together, even though we still have a lot to learn. We have a beautiful house that we get to make a home, two spoiled dogs that we couldn’t imagine our lives without but most importantly, we are excited to start the next chapter in our relationship!
